DIY Baby Burp Cloths (Sewing Tutorial)
March 5, 2020
Hi, I’m Jen from Online Fabric Store. In this tutorial I will be showing you how to make simple burp cloths using diapers and cotton fabric. So let’s get started. The materials you will need are: 1 yard of cotton fabric, I’m using Michael Miller Zoology Orchid fabric, Softots diapers, Coats & Clark Parrot Blue thread, a ruler, fabric scissors, and ballpoint pins. On the wrong side of the cotton fabric, measure and cut a 6 by 22 inch strip. Iron the sides a 1/2 inch over towards the inside. Place the fabric in the middle of the diaper and pin the sides along the creases. For the top and bottom, fold the fabric over 3/4 of an inch then fold over another 3/4 of an inch and pin to the diaper. Stitch 1/8 of an inch along the side and stop a 1/2 inch before the end. Pivot the fabric and stitch a 1/2 inch along the top and stop at 1/4 of an inch before the end. Pivot the fabric and stitch 1/4 of an inch along the side and stop at a 1/2 inch before the end. Turn the fabric and stitch a 1/2 inch to the end and back stitch a 1/2 inch. Cut off the remaining threads and your burp cloth is now complete. To add more fun, you can mix and match different prints and solids. Thanks for watching this OFS project.
